INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS

Intelligent systems can be divided into open and closed. Both groups offer similar possibilities which include the integration of lighting, ventilation, air conditioning etc. and additionally, the remote control of the system through the Internet or SMS messaging. The difference between the two groups is in the technical details.

The former group comprises mainly KNX that associates beyond 150 companies which deal with system integration and building automation. KNX system gives the possibility to integrate components produced by any company until they meet the KNX standards. KNX standard is defined by flexibility of options during utilization and future development. The possibility of choice from among 150 producers of equipment causes that even the most fastidious customer would find the design and functionality matching their requirements.

The exemplary closed system is LCN. It is a decentralized system – control units are mounted in recessed cans. Instead of the main wire that connects particular elements of KNX system, there exists additional wire by the agency of which the components of LCN system communicate with each other. The other examples of closed systems are Sienna, Teletask (Emiter), My Home (Bticino).

Apart from the systems that require the proper wiring, there are also wireless systems possible to be applied in finished interiors. The representative of this group is X-comfort. Moreover, majority of KNX producers (Hager, Jung, Merten, Gira) offer wireless systems as well. They are of similar functionality as wire systems.
